The reason

The reason is not fully known. Some patients have genetic reasons. However, there is no consensus that it is genetic.

Why does Tubular Breast Occur?

The breast consists of ligaments containing collagen and the fascia tissue. These tissues keep the breast in place against gravity and prevent it from sagging. These structures stretch and grow with the growth of breast tissue in puberty. In tuberculosis, these connective tissues cannot keep up with the breast’s growth.

Breast tissue that opens like a flower and tries to grow gets deformed. The nipple and breast tissue try to grow as if they are passing through a narrow channel and a deformed appearance occurs.

What is the shape of a tubular breast?

Instead of a slightly oval, breast tissue becomes a cylindrical or conical shaped.

There is a tissue narrowing at the base of the breast.

The line under the breast (where the breast meets the chest) is higher than it should be. And the

nipple moves from here like a hernia and becomes saggy.

Also, if it occurs unilaterally, a serious asymmetry occurs between the breasts.

What are the tubercular breast types?

There are three types. Light, medium and heavy (Type1, Type2, Type3).

How is tubular breast surgery performed?

The preparations for the surgery are like any other breast surgeries. After the preparations for anesthesia are made, planning is made according to the type of tubercular breast. These plans are made according to the size of the deformity. Usually, breast prostheses are used since nearly all breasts are smaller than the other one.

Light Type Problems

1. Slightly less skin tissue under the breast.

It usually treated only by using breast prostheses. If it is not enough, some tissue is inserted from the lower breast area.

2. The bottom line of the breast is higher the normal.

It is shifted down by making a well-planned incision.

3. One breast is smaller than the other.

The breasts are tried to be equalized by using the appropriate prosthesis.Since there is a shortage of skin tissue in the medium type, the tissue inside the breast that shortened, thickened or hardened are removed and the processes above are applied.

In the heavy type, the tissue is generally inadequate. Two surgical operations are planned. Hardened tissues are cleaned first. Then, the skin is expanded for a few months using tissue expanders called an expander. In the second session, the processes listed above are applied.

If the tubular breast is bilateral, the same procedure should be performed on both breasts. In unilateral ones, operations such as enlargement or reduction in the other breast can be applied to provide full symmetry.

Can symmetry be obtained after surgery?

In tuberculosis breasts, depending on the skin texture quality of both breasts and the difference between two breasts in terms of shape and volume, especially in light cases symmetry can be achieved. Some amount of similarity can be achieved in the medium and heavy cases, although full symmetry cannot be achieved.

Recovery Period After Tuberculosis Breast Augmentation Surgery

The Tuberculosis Breast augmentation process is the same as Breast augmentation surgery. Patients are discharged after spending one night in the hospital.

Pain is kept under control with painkillers used in the hospital environment on the first night. After the first day, the pain decreases with each passing day.

This process can be easily overcome with the medicines given by the doctor.

In tuberculosis breast surgeries, two layers of tension may be felt due to tissue deficiency, this process is temporary. The tissue adapts slowly. There is edema lasting 7-10 days after the operation.

This edema decreases over time. After the operation, the patient is dressed in a corset. This corset should be used for the period recommended by the doctor.

After the drainage devices are removed, the patient can take a shower. This is usually the 2nd day after surgery.

Tuberous Breast Augmentation Surgery Price

In breast augmentation surgeries, the fee varies depending on the brand of the silicone prosthesis to be used, the physician who will perform the surgery and the hospital where the surgery will be performed. You can learn the procedure fee during a detailed examination with an experienced plastic surgeon.
